Are you eating a Heart-Healthy Diet?

Are the foods you love heart-healthy? A heart-healthy diet can protect your health—in some cases even reversing heart disease.

Try eating these good foods:

  • A "rainbow" of fresh fruits and vegetables
  • High-fiber and whole grains
  • Lean proteins (like chicken and fish)
  • Nuts, seeds and beans

Try to limit these foods:

  • High in fat or cholesterol (processed meat, fast food, butter)
  • High in Salt (potato soups, canned goods, prepared dinners)
  • Alcohol (no more than two drinks a day for men, and one a day for women)
HEALTHY TIP
Watch out for sneaky sodium by:
Reading labels
Limiting packaged and restaurant foods
Not adding salt to your food during cooking
Using low-sodium spices and sauces
