Holiday stress and suicide prevention

While the holiday season can bring feelings of love and cheer for some, it can also be the cause of holiday stress and deep depression for others. Suicide remains a major public health problem in Alaska. In 2007, for every 100,000 Alaskans, 21.8 died by suicide. That rate increases to 35.1 per 100,000 for the Alaska Native population.  Read more »
