"Alco-Genes” in the Bottle: Genetically Based SUD Treatment- Webinar July 14, 11:00am-12:00pm AKDT
The National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) is hosting this training on the use of genetic testing in the assessment and treatment of SUD. The history of the discovery, the underlying pathology – Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS), the Neuroreceptor Reward Cascade, Genetic Addiction Risk Score (GARS) test and using GARS to treat RDS will be discussed.

Primary Care Focus: Brief and More Intensive Evidence-Based Treatment Approaches for Older Adults Who Misuse Alcohol and Other Drugs for Primary Care Teams July 22, 10:00-11:00am AKDT
There are increasing rates of at-risk drinking and use of other drugs among older adults seen in primary care. This has been made worse by COVID stay-at-home restrictions and associated social isolation. This webinar will focus on ways that primary care teams can address risky drinking and other drug use in older adults using the Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) framework.

Digital Therapeutics - Clinically Validated Behavioral Treatments for Substance Use Disorders July 23, 8:00am-9:30am AKDT

5th Annual MAT Conference August 31-September 2
Hosted by the Alaska Division of Behavioral Health, the MAT conference will give participants the opportunity to learn how to improve services provided to individuals experiencing opioid and stimulant use disorders across Alaska.
