EMS Provider Certification Renewal

Please note the following updated certification renewal processes...

for providers affiliated with a certified service:

  • When an affiliation is indicated on the application an email will be sent to the service training officer to verify training.
  • These providers will no longer have to enter CME hours individually or indicate National Registry Certification.

for providers not affiliated with a certified service:

  • Applicant must enter CME under the “Supplemental Training” section or indicate they have current NREMT certification.
  • Department approved CME or CME meeting the National Continued Competency Program will be accepted this December 2019 re-certification cycle.

for ALL applicants:

  • Proof of CME is not required to be submitted with the application, however, documentation must be maintained by the individual through the end of the certification cycle as all applications are subject to audit.
  • All applicants must indicate at least one of the following: service affiliation, NREMT certification, or CME for the application to process through training validation. Please take time to review your application to avoid any certification renewal delays.
  • Beginning with the December 2020 re-certification cycle, CME will be required to meet NCCP requirements.

Alaska Uniform Response Online Reporting Access (AURORA) Elite

Advances in technology are as predictable as the changing of the seasons. As we look into the advances in browser technology, we often need to look within to see where we can adopt improvements in security and performance. Not all web browsers are created equally and here at ImageTrend, we embrace change for the better.

As of Jan 1st, 2020, ImageTrend Elite will no longer support Internet Explorer 10 or 11. ImageTrend will continue to support Internet Explorer with our other applications such as Patient Registry, Resource Bridge, License Management and Billing Bridge.

In an upcoming release, a warning banner will appear for those users who currently use Internet Explorer with Elite for further communication of the change. ImageTrend Elite will continue to support the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft’s Edge browsers. We are excited to innovate and continue to challenge our creativity in order to bring you the best ePCR and RMS system on the market!

Statewide EMS System Assessment 2020

In our office's effort to create a resilient and sustainable EMS system, the Alaska Rural Hospital Flexibility Program (FLEX) is partnering with the State Office of EMS to provide funding for SafeTech Solutions, LLP to perform a statewide EMS Assessment.

SafeTech Solutions’ approach to a statewide assessment will be to focus at the local level first by listening to the providers, service leaders, local governments, clinicians, hospitals and the public that we serve. The first part of the assessment will start after the New Year, beginning with surveys and individual conversations to include face to face listening sessions.

Since 2004, SafeTech Solutions, has conducted rural EMS assessments across the United States. The depth and breadth of this work is unparalleled in the field, and indeed, SafeTech Solutions’ extensive experience informs its distinctive and successful approach to helping organizations, communities, and regions manage change.

If you have any questions about this EMS Assessment please email the State EMS Office.
