BE PREPARED! Possible AC Transit strike tomorrow!
Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) sent this bulletin at 10/16/2013 04:14 PM PDTAs of Wednesday afternoon, the Governor’s office has not responded to AC Transit’s request for a 60-day cooling-off period to forestall a strike by bus operators and mechanics tomorrow morning. The bus-riding public is therefore advised to be prepared for the unavailability of bus service as of 12:01 a.m. Thursday, October 17.
A few specific advisories in the event of a strike:
- Parents and school administrators should plan for other arrangements to transport students to and from the many schools served by AC Transit.
- East Bay Paratransit service will operate as usual.
- Dumbarton Express service, which is operated by a private contractor, will run as usual.
- Other transit providers in or near the AC Transit service area may be useful to some AC Transit riders. See resource page.
Please check the AC Transit homepage www.actransit.org for updates on the situation.
