The transition to Zero Emissions buses in Public Transit requires a highly trained workforce to operate and maintain the new technologies. AC Transit (the "District") will provide a State-of-the-Art facility to ensure the success of the Trainees and the District.
AC Transit will be seeking bids from qualified firms to renovate the existing Training and Education Center in Hayward to provide Trainees and Staff with a modernized facility that is conducive to learning the emerging technologies of the 21st century and beyond. This will include a design that will leverage energy, water, and climate control elements to reduce the carbon footprint of the facility; as well as design, reconfigure, and build classrooms and learning labs to best suit the subjects being taught.
There is a 7% Small Business goal.
