Beginning October 7, AC Transit will issue automated camera citations for illegally parked or stopped vehicles at bus stops on all bus lines throughout our service area. The $110 citations will be mailed to the vehicle’s registered owner.
AI-powered cameras on 100 buses detect and issue citations to any vehicle, including taxis, rideshare, and delivery trucks, that are stopped or parked at AC Transit bus stops.
On August 7, AC Transit began issuing warning citations for 60 days, to motorists identified by law enforcement as violating the bus stop law. The 60-day period has now expired.
