BRT Construction Sites through February 15, 2020

AC Transit is committed to providing the most accurate information for anyone seeking information along the 9.5-mile BRT corridor. Currently, construction crews are hard at work building BRT stations, installing new wheelchair accessible curb ramps, modern traffic signals, LED street lighting and more innovative improvements in the following neighborhoods.


A&U1

BRT construction is in full swing in Downtown Oakland! At the southbound 14th Street Station on Broadway, the station platform has been built and the canopy has been installed. Crews are now installing the electrical wiring that will power the station’s lighting, security cameras, real-time arrival displays and more. (1/30/2020)

Work on the San Leandro Transit Center (SLTC) continues to progress. The SLTC will be BRT's southern terminus. A view from the BART platform highlights construction of the new medians in the bus loading and unloading area. (1/17/2020)


A&U3

Crews apply the finishing touches to new decorative concrete medians being installed on International Boulevard at Derby, 31st and 37th Avenues in the Fruitvale neighborhood. Trees and other landscaping will follow. (1/16/2020)

BRT is a $216 million investment in the community. BRT bus service mirrors the frequency, reliability and safety of light-rail train service without the high cost of building a rail line. BRT will operate along a 9.5-mile corridor between downtown Oakland and the San Leandro BART Station, primarily along International Boulevard and East 14th Street.
