BRT Safety Training and Testing Continues Wednesday, January 29

Drivers Urged Not to Park in the BRT Bus-Only Lane

Construction for AC Transit’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project is nearing completion. Now, essential safety training and testing for BRT buses, stations, and the multi-mile bus-only transit lane will begin on Wednesday, January 29.

Effective immediately, AC Transit will begin using the new bus-only lanes on International Blvd. between 90th Avenue and Havenscourt Boulevard. To do so safely, the bus-only lane must be clear of all vehicles.

VEHICLES PARKED IN THE BUS-ONLY LANE WILL BE TICKETED OR TOWED AT OWNER’S EXPENSE.

Please note, the bus-only lane is marked and painted on the roadway. Once testing and training begins, you will notice regular operation of BRT buses inside the bus-only lane.  Bus frequency will ultimately increase to every seven minutes during peak hours.

AC Transit wishes to thank you for encouraging safety by asking your visitors, employees, and customers to avoid the bus-only lane.

We can be reached by telephone at (510) 891–5478 or you can visit the BRT Information Center at 3322A International Boulevard. Additional facts and information are available on our website at brt.actransit.org.
