For nearly six decades, AC Transit has been dedicated to providing comfortable, reliable and sustainable Transbay service to the nearly 14,000 customers who travel across the bay every day. Our long-term commitment to improve Transbay service continues in the coming weeks. Soon, riders will enjoy the comfort of our new double decker buses, and more trips will be added to key Transbay lines to alleviate overcrowding and mitigate congestion on the Bay Bridge. Additionally, we have studied other Transbay lines and streamlined their routes for greater efficiency and reduced travel time.
To support these Transbay advancements while meeting our capital obligations to the new Salesforce Transit Center, earlier this year the District established a new five-year Transbay fare structure:
- Transbay fares will no longer be two times local fare.
- The base single ride fare will increase by $1.00 in year 1, $ .50 in year 2 and an additional $ .50 in year 4.
