Upcoming Export Training
For any center that has an interest in exporting, has participated in ExporTech and/or just wants a better understanding of the various federal programs that can assist, NIST MEP has a partnership with the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee (TPCC), and are offering an Interagency Trade Officer Training Program, which will be held multiple times this summer. The program will be offered July 9-12; August 13-16 and September 10-13 in Arlington, VA. The TPCC is a committee made up of all of the federal agencies that are involved in international trade.
Exporters want to have a better grasp of trade programs across government. To address this need, the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee (TPCC) developed the Interagency Trade Officer Training Program – now in its eleventh year. Every year the TPCC has improved and updated the Program based on participant feedback and new Administration priorities.
Program Overview: The program imparts broader knowledge of federal trade programs and how they fit together, as well as customer value creation skills to help you address your clients’ needs. During the four-day session, you will participate in a variety of case studies alongside U.S. company representatives. You will gain a better grasp of fast changing customer needs, customized solutions, and the power of leveraging other agencies. And you will network with participants from across government, including the International Trade Administration, the State and Agricultural Departments, the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the Small Business Administration, the Manufacturing Extension Partnership, the Minority Business Development Agency, and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. In addition, we regularly include representatives of state and local government, as well as other TPCC partner agencies.
The program is funded by the joint resources of the sponsoring TPCC agencies. There is no tuition cost to you, except travel costs. Since space is limited we ask you to respond only if you are able to commit to the full four-day program.
If you are interested in attending one of these training programs, please contact Kari Reidy at kari.reidy@nist.gov or 301-975-4919. To see what kind of topics are covered, you can find a copy of last September's agenda, on MEIS.
