DOT FTA Seeks Domestic Manufacturers

On September 10, NIST MEP posted two Supplier Scouting opportunities to the MEP System for the US DOT FTA.  FTA is seeking domestic manufacturers of Domestic Vertical Axis Cycloidal Propeller as well as domestic manufacturers of Platform Truck Intrusion Detection Systems, in conjunction with DOT Buy America procurement provisions. MEP Centers should submit info about potential matching manufacturers to NIST MEP via MEP Connect by September 25.  For more info, contact Samm Bowman 301-975-5978 or Dave Stieren 301-915-3197.

Workforce Working Group Startup

The MEP Workforce Working Group is getting up and running.  The Working Group will explore opportunities for peer to peer learning, build network relationships, and inform MEP on activities and investments needed for Workforce Practice expansion.  Membership is open to any Center staff willing to contribute expertise, share experiences, and/or volunteer to pilot activities to advance Workforce goals. An initial group of practitioners have participated in several start up conference calls to draft a charter and discuss opportunities for us to focus on for the coming year.  The group will meet during the Update Meeting in Dallas, Wednesday, September 23, 7:00 – 9:00 am (CT).  Call in access may be available.  Email Mary Ann Pacelli if you want to attend either in person or remotely.  All interested practitioners are welcome!

Manufacturer’s Edge is seeking a statewide Marketing Manager to develop and implement marketing strategies.  Manufacturer’s Edge is also seeking two Regional Directors, one for the Boulder area and one for the Fort Collins area.  Regional Directors are responsible for business and partner development, along with client account management.  If interested please contact Sumer Sorensen-Bain at 303-981-2144.
