Homeschool Week at SEA LIFE


Discover something amazing at SEA LIFE Arizona during Homeschool Week! Enjoy an interactive experience including educational lessons and hands-on projects, designed specifically for homeschool students.

This November learn intriguing facts about one of the ocean's most beloved creatures, the sea stars,. Receive a guided hands-on lesson with living sea stars in the classroom and learn about how their anatomy allos them to thrive in seas aroung the world.

When:  November 12th - 14th timeslots between 9:00am & 12:00pm

Where:  5000 S. Arizona Mills Circle, Suite 145, Tempe 

Cost:   $6 per person (plus tax)

Upon arrival please be prepared to show your homeschool reporting form, co-op membership card, “affidavit of intent to homeschool” or other homeschool documentation. Children under 2 are free.  


Homeschool Day at XTREME AIR JUMP N'SKATE in Chandler

Xtreme Air Jump n' Skate has dedicated the second Wednesday of every month from 10:00am to 12:00pm starting September 11, 2013 to May 2014 just for homeschool families.

We Make History

Join the joyful family of We Make History at the13th Annual Victorian Christmas Ball as we celebrate this wonderful season in the old Victorian style with dancing, gifts, caroling and plenty of good cheer for all!

When: Saturday, November 30th a social time shall commence at 6:00pm and the Ball at 7:00pm. Festivities shall last until midnight.

american heritage festival

The American Heritage Festival is by far the largest living history event to take place in The Southwest. Do not miss out on this unique, creative, interactive and family friendly educational opportunity for all ages.

Eta Sigma Alpha Homeschool Honor Society

Did you know that if your son or daughter scored 180 or higher on the PSAT, 1800 or highter on the SAT,or 90% or higher on a national standardized achievement test, that they are qualified to be in the Eta SIgma Alpha National Honor Society? ESA is a homeschool honor society that meets one Saturday a month for a couple of hours at Covenant Homeschool Resource Center. They perform community-service projects and are a student-led and student-run organization. Visit the Omicron Beta chapter's website at

Covenant Homeschool Resource Center

Covenant Homeschool Resource Center is a resource for homeschoolers, they are a local Arizona 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Your donations bless other families, and you can also receive a tax deduction for them. Covenant staff and volunteers are ready and willing to answer any questions. Contact staff at 602-277-3497 or They are open Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Resources Available:

  • On-site bookstore has a variety of popular used curriculum and books, many brands of new curriculums, science supplies, math manipulatives and surprising extras.
  • Classes for homeschool students and workshops of interest for the whole family.
  • If interested in standardized testing, they offer both the ITBS - Iowa Test of Basic Skills and the PSAT - Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test.
  • Photo ID's for both parents and students on the premises.

Donations and Volunteering

If you are ready to say "goodbye" to some of your homeschool curriculum, bring it to Covenant Homeschool Resource Center, they accept most education materials. Unfortunately, they are not allowed to re-sell K-12 Virtual Academy books or single-user educational software. All donations are tax-deductible and you will receive a coupon to be used towards your next purchase of used books at Covenant.

Homeschool Students - Experience One Day at Arizona Christian University

This one-day experience is designed to give homeschool students an opportunity to experience college life at ACU, from attending a class, going to chapel and eating in the dining hall. Upi wo;; ;earm abpit ACU's Academic programs, the application process and financial aid opportunities during an interactive Q and A. Plus, all students receive a free ACU t-shirt and are eligible for other great giveaways! Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Homeschool Classes

Arizona Science Center offers a variety of homeschool opportunities for students from September through May. Homeschool classes are held onsite at Arizona Science Center and offsite at Usery Mountain Park.  

Homeschool Explorer Program

Classes suggested for ages 6 to 10 years of age.

Give a Hoot About Pellets - The wise old owl leaves clues about its meals. As you study the evidence, you will determine what the owl eats and be able to construct its food web.

Mollusks and Others - Dive into the fascination world of oceanography without ever leaving the desert. Become familiar with a variety of seashells and learn about the unique ocean creatures that form these shells.

Marine biology - How do marine biologists determine if they have discovered a new species? How do they study tidal zones? join us in classigfying marine organisms and collecting tidal data in the calsstoom. Sorry, no scuba diving!

National History Bee

The National History Bee is an exciting new history competition for school children across America. Participating students progress from the school level to the regional level and finally to the National Championship until one student is crowned the National History Bee Champiion.

Homeschools are encouraged to enroll in the 2013-2014 National History Bee. The academic competition for elementary and middle school grades tests knowledge of a wide range of historidcal topics.
