We've been shortlisted at the National Recycling Awards

National Recycling awards shortlisted

Together with our household collections contractor, SUEZ UK, we’re celebrating following shortlisting for two  MRW National Recycling Awards.

The partnership has been shortlisted for Campaign of the Year – Recycling Incentive and Food Waste Initiative, following the success of the Food Recycling campaign.

The prestigious awards celebrate the UK’s most innovative and impactful recycling, waste and resource management projects.

Over the past year, we’ve been out and about helping more people make food recycling part of their everyday routine. From social media and community events to face-to-face conversations, helpful tips and resident pledges, the campaign has shown why food recycling matters and cleared up some common misconceptions along the way.

And it’s made a real difference. Food waste recycling increased by 7.3% – equal to an extra 0.5kg from each household every month. The campaign also saved more than £60,000 and inspired 1,500 residents to pledge to recycle more of their food waste. A big thank you to everyone who has taken on the challenge and helped make this possible.

We’ll find out if we’ve won when the MRW National Recycling Award winners are announced on 1 December 2026 – fingers crossed!
