Buckle Up Every Mile

Nearly 14% of commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers don't wear their seat belt. In 2024, nearly 35% of the unbelted CMV drivers involved in a fatal crash lost their lives.

FMCSA's refreshed seat belt campaign delivers a simple reminder: Buckle up every mile. Pros click for safe trips. No matter how long, short, or familiar the drive, a seat belt keeps drivers safe, helps them make it home to the people who count on them, and reflects the professionalism that CMV drivers take pride in. It's also the law.

We invite our partners and safety allies to help spread the word. The toolkit includes social graphics with ready-to-post copy, a visor card, a one-pager, and audio PSAs you can share with the drivers in your network.

School Bus Safety Week: October 19-23

Millions of children ride a school bus every day. From 2000 to 2024, 63 people died in crashes involving a driver illegally passing a stopped school bus, and nearly half of them were pedestrians age 18 or younger. The message for every driver is simple: when the stop-arm is out, stop.

NHTSA's School Bus Safety Week page has everything you need to amplify that message, including a sample news release, talking points, social graphics and copy, and videos.
