More than 30 people joined Frome Renewable Energy Community (FRECo) in Victoria Park to celebrate 10 years of community-owned renewable energy.
The afternoon brought together shareholders, volunteers, collaborators and local residents to reflect on everything achieved over the past decade, while looking ahead to what comes next. It was a joyful occasion, with familiar faces reconnecting, new conversations beginning, and a shared commitment to creating a cleaner, more resilient future for Frome.
As FRECo begins its second decade, it is inviting the wider community to help shape its priorities.
FRECo has created a short survey, which takes a couple of minutes to complete. Feedback will help inform FRECo’s next chapter, including future projects, community engagement and opportunities for local people to get involved.
As part of this next chapter, FRECo is also looking to recruit new volunteer directors to its board. While experience in finance, accounting, investment or communications would be particularly valuable, people from a range of backgrounds and with different skills are welcome.
Anyone interested in finding out more can email hello@freco.org for an informal chat.
FRECo thanked everyone who joined the celebration and all those who have supported community energy in Frome as it looks ahead to the next stage of its work.
