£800k now available for South West manufacturers via Made Smarter grants

The Made Smarter programme is reopening for 2026/27 intake, and your organisation may be eligible to take part.

Made Smarter supports manufacturing SMEs to become digitally ready and adopt the latest technologies, from automation and data systems to advanced manufacturing tools, with fully funded expert support, training, and the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to £20,000.

What’s coming up?

As the programme reopens, businesses in the South West will have the opportunity to explore how Made Smarter can help improve productivity, strengthen operations, and accelerate digital transformation. Early engagement will allow you to speak with the Made Smarter team, understand the application process, and prepare ahead of the official launch.

What the programme offers

  • Grant of up to £20,000 towards new digital equipment and software
  • Free 1:1 sessions with digital experts to analyse your business challenges
  • Fully funded internship with support for up to 250 hours
  • Expert-led digital leadership training at no cost
