Supporting Provider Well-Being: Introducing the Healthy Practice Resource
The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy’s (FSBPT) Continuing Competence Committee has developed a new self-evaluation tool to support provider well-being. This tool is called the Healthy Practice Resource Tool, and it aims to "enhance regulation in support of public protection".
According to FSBPT, healthy practice combines personal and professional well-being with the health and effectiveness of the practice environment. This concept has driven the development of the Healthy Practice Resource Tool, an online self-guided, evidence-based modular tool. This resource has a strong psychometric foundation to encourage self-reflection, provide feedback, and connect providers with resources to support healthy practice.
The resource includes 10 modules: emotional well-being, mental well-being, social well-being, financial well-being, physical well-being, work-related well-being, work role support, benefits and wellness, practice climate, and compassion. Providers may complete one or more modules. Based on responses, the tool provides feedback and directs users to additional resources.
No login is required. Responses are not saved, recorded, or shared. Once you leave a module, the tool does not retain your answers and cannot recreate them even if you want to return to your feedback in the future.
The health of the profession and the health of patients depend on the well-being of providers. FSBPT encourages all health care providers to explore the Healthy Practice Resource Tool.
