On January 1, 2026, you may get your care through a Next Generation MyCare plan.  

• If you live in a MyCare Ohio county, your Next Generation MyCare benefits will begin January 1, 2026. You should have received information in the mail with details and options to change your plan or align your Medicaid and Medicare benefits.  

• If you currently get care through Buckeye Health Plan, CareSource, or Molina HealthCare of Ohio and during open enrollment you: 

• Selected a new plan, you will receive care through that plan. 

• Did not make a selection, you will remain with your current plan.  

• If you currently get care through Aetna Better Health of Ohio or United Healthcare Community Plan, your plan will no longer be part of MyCare after December 31, 2025. During open enrollment: 

• If you chose a new plan, you will get care through that plan.  

• If not, you were automatically enrolled in a Next Generation MyCare plan for your Medicaid benefits. Your new plan includes as many of your current doctors as possible. 

• If you become eligible for MyCare Ohio before January 1, 2026, you will receive Medicaid benefits through fee-for-service until your Next Generation MyCare coverage begins. 

• If you are eligible for MyCare Ohio and enrolled in Ohio Home Care, Assisted Living, or PASSPORT waiver programs, you will join the MyCare Ohio waiver on January 1, 2026. 

• If you live in a county where the Next Generation MyCare program starts after January 1, 2026, ODM will send you a letter with your plan information, start date, and options to change or align your coverage. 

 Watch your mailbox for your new member ID card and welcome packet.
