DIY SOS! Carrie responds to painting Feniton

Our very own Carrie Robinson, a painter in our Responsive Repairs team recently volunteered her time to join the BBC’s DIY SOS team in Feniton, near Honiton, putting to fantastic use her skills to surprise a local family and help renovate their home after a family bereavement.

Carrie told us:

“I absolutely love my job so when I saw an advert looking for volunteer painters to help on an episode of DIY SOS, I knew I had to apply. It was tremendous fun and so rewarding; we were a team of around 20 decorators so it was very busy!

“I haven’t been with the Council that long, but I love what I do. The interaction with our tenants, working on their homes – I really feel like I’m making a difference to peoples’ lives and helping in some small way to the community.

“Doing the show reminded me that there are so many good people working together to help others. That’s what I aim to do in my day-to-day.”

The episode will air in Spring 2026.
