Back in May, we announced that we would be undertaking an independent options appraisal – or review - to determine how our housing management services should be delivered in the future.
This review, which is being completed by independent consultants, Savills, is being undertaken to ensure that our services are better aligned across the county and that we deliver best value for money for all Somerset Council and Homes in Somerset tenants and leaseholders.
As part of this process, Savills has now completed a number of engagement activities, and we’d like to thank everyone who has taken the time to share their feedback - whether in person at a face-to-face meeting, during a virtual session or by completing the survey. Your input is invaluable and is helping to shape the future of housing services in Somerset.
We’ll continue to share regular updates with you through this newsletter, our website, social media platforms and other bespoke engagement, as this important work progresses.
It’s anticipated that a recommendation for a future housing management delivery model will be made in early 2026. Thank you again for your continued engagement and support.
We’ve published some Frequently Asked Questions which are available via our Housing Options Appraisal page.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, you should contact your housing officer. Leaseholders should contact Claire Thackray at claire.thackray@somerset.gov.uk or Stephanie Clark at stephanie.clark@somerset.gov.uk.
