Dental Lab Registration - Do You Need to Register Your Lab?

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) implemented new registration requirements for dental laboratories. Starting January 31, 2025, dental labs applying for registration in Washington must:

Employ a Certified Dental Technician (CDT) in good standing, who works at least 30 hours per week at the same lab.

Exemptions to Note

Denturists: Licensed denturists are exempt from needing registration.
In-Office Labs: Labs that serve only the internal needs of a dental office, not external clients, are exempt from registration.
