A new promotional film has been launched to inspire Somerset companies to apply for the King’s Award for Enterprise (KAE) – the UK’s most prestigious business accolade. Commissioned by the Somerset Lieutenancy, the 2-minute film spotlights Atlantas Marine, a Yeovil-based underwater surveillance firm that has tripled its turnover in 3 years.

The film, produced by former BBC correspondent and Deputy Lieutenant Clinton Rogers, will be showcased at the Somerset Business Breakfast at the University of Bath on 6 May, coinciding with the announcement of this year’s winners. It is available to view on YouTube.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset, Mohammed Saddiq, praised Atlantas Marine as a model recipient, noting the award’s impact on business growth, staff morale, and talent retention. Managing Director Charlie Foll described the honour as a culmination of over 20 years of dedicated service to the offshore inspection industry.

The King’s Award recognises excellence in:

  • Innovation
  • International trade
  • Sustainable development
  • Promoting opportunity through social mobility

Winners receive:

  • An invitation to a Royal reception
  • A presentation by a Lord-Lieutenant
  • Use of the King’s Awards emblem on marketing materials
  • A Grant of Appointment and commemorative crystal trophy

Applications are open until 1pm on 12 September 2025. Businesses can learn more and apply via GOV.UK or contact the helpline on 020 4551 0081.
