Who Needs to Take a Public Meetings Law Training?

You may be required to take a Public Meetings Law Training during your term of office. 

Am I required to take the Public Meetings Law Training?

1. Am I a member of a governing body?

   • If no, I am not required to take the Public Meetings Law Training (but maybe I should).

   • If yes, see #2.

2. Does my governing body have the power to authorize the spending of public money?

   • If no, I am not required to take the Public Meetings Law Training (but maybe I should).

   • If yes, see #3.

3. Can my governing body spend 1 million dollars or more in a fiscal year?

   • If no, I am not required to take the Public Meetings Law Training (but maybe I should).

   • If yes, see #4.

4. Am I a member of a governing body of state government as defined in ORS 174.111?

   • If yes, I am not required to take the Public Meetings Law Training (but maybe I should).

   • If no, see #5.

5. I am required to take the Public Meetings Law Training at least once during my term of office.
