Announcing Operation Pathfinder 2025
The Pathfinder exercise has been an annual event beginning in 2014*.
This scenario based, full-scale exercise is an opportunity to practice rapid medical response operations alongside civilian, state, and federal public health and medical responders. Participants in this year’s exercise include volunteers from the SERV-OR’s State Managed Volunteer Pool (SMVP), Oregon Disaster Medical Team (ODMT), and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The exercise will be a combination of didactic learning with full-scale, hands-on medical and incident response drills.
DATE: Saturday, June 7
LOCATION: Portland Community College Rock Creek Campus
The event will be approximately 8-10 hours. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Volunteers are selected based on their areas of interest, experience, and overall availability for various roles. Selection criteria will also include physical requirements specific to each role, as well as your training background, professional qualifications, and position availability. These factors will help ensure that volunteers are appropriately assigned to meet the needs of the exercise.
Get Involved! Please complete the Pathfinder 2025 Interest Form linked here.**
Those who respond will be sent a survey to gather additional information needed for assigning roles. To ensure you do not miss out on any communications about this event, please include an active email address on the interest form. You may opt-out at any time.
* In 2020, the exercise took a hiatus in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, resuming in June 2024.
** Please note that we are recruiting members of the State Managed Volunteer Pool (SMVP) for this event. Participants must meet membership requirements for the SMVP.
