Wellbeing Days in partnership with ACDI (with free health checks)
Netherthird Community Centre
Friday 28th February 10am – 2pm
New Cumnock Town Hall
Monday 10th March 10am-2pm
Come along for a free health check of the following:
Weight, BMI, Body fat and muscle mass %, blood pressure, atrial fibrillation
cholesterol, diabetes and prostate testing with immediate results.
Health Development Officer, Diarmid Simpson, told us more:
“ACDI Recovery are hosting in conjunction with Netherthird Community Centre and The Kings Foundation (Town Hall), New Cumnock two Health and Wellbeing days.
“After the success of our Recovery Together event back in September we realised there is a need in the rural areas for the health checks as patients are having difficulty in securing routine appointments at their local GP practices.
“Once again we are privileged to have BHR Pharmaceuticals present at both events to facilitate diabetes, cholesterol, atrial fibrillation detection, and prostate testing.
“It was also evident at this event that the general public are unaware of the services that East Ayrshire has to offer in relation to addictions, mental health and financial help.
“We hope these events will also tackle the social isolation issues in these areas by encouraging people to come along and have a health check, which in turn will lead to conversations about activities, mental health, lifestyle, etc., that are available in their areas.”
