If you’re looking for something to do with your child, grandchild, or someone you care for this summer, why not register them for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. Once a child is registered at their local library, all they have to do is read up to 6 books between now and 7 September. For every book they read, they’ll get a set of stickers and when they have read all 6 books, they’ll get a medal and a certificate.
Children can read any 6 books- big books, adventure books, fairy books, picture books, audio books, and we even count books an adult reads with them. And to run alongside the Summer Reading Challenge, there will be lots of free activities and events throughout the summer for children and families to take part in.
So pop into your local library from Saturday to register for the Summer Reading Challenge. Or if you live in Somerset, you can register with your library card online by visiting bit.ly/SRC24Register.
