Good afternoon,
Thank you for your patience. We have determined that your unemployment insurance (UI) claim can now be paid. Shortly after you applied for UI benefits, we mailed you a determination letter with information about your weekly benefit rate.
If you provided bank account information while applying, your benefits will be deposited into that account. If you did not provide bank account information, you will receive a Conduent Way2Go debit card by mail within three weeks.
It is important that you continue to certify every week between Sunday and Saturday to claim your benefits. You can certify for weekly benefits in one of two ways:
- Online at labor.ny.gov/signin. Click on the "Unemployment Services" button, then "Certify to Claim Your Weekly Benefits Here," and follow the instructions.
- Through the automated phone service by calling 888-581-5812.
UI benefits are currently available for 26 weeks, or 104 effective days. Before receiving benefits on a new UI claim, you must serve an unpaid waiting period that equals one full week (four days) of benefits. The waiting period extends into the next week if you work during the week you filed your claim for or if you do not serve an entire waiting period.
We encourage you to review your records and, if necessary, adjust your tax withholdings, which may help you avoid a tax bill next year. You can change your tax withholding option in your online account.
Thank you.
