Composting for the Holidays
As you start to prepare for the holiday season, the City would like to remind you of that perfect place to toss your food scraps and expired leftovers…the green cart! This helps create compost, a valuable resource that farmers, landscapers, and gardeners can use to grow healthy food and reduce greenhouse gases. To start composting right from your kitchen, simply gather your food scraps and soiled paper items and then toss them into your green bin. Free countertop compost pails are available from Republic Services by completing an online form. If you're hosting a holiday gathering, don't forget to have composting and recycling bins easily accessible for your guests.
