DWES Kit Exterior
DWES Kit Interior
The DWES Kits are to be used only during a suspected or credible contamination threat event of a drinking water system.
The DWES Kit is not intended to be used to sample for anything other than water borne contaminants. The initial testing will be paid for by the Public Health Emergency Preparedness section (PHEP) of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. Further testing may be requested by the client however it will be the responsibility of the client to pay for that follow-up testing.
Each DWES Kit is self-contained and has sampling instructions, a chain of custody form, lab testing request forms, multiple types of sampling containers, evidence tape, and personal protective equipment required for collecting the water samples from a drinking water facility.
In the case of a suspected Water Tampering Event: it is a requirement to call the MTPHL 1-800-821-7284, 24/7, and the DES Duty Officer 1-406-324-4777 to coordinate transportation, arrange any special handling requirements, alert any necessary medical surveillance groups, and coordinate potential state laboratory network actions.
In a non-emergency, call Kim Newman, Laboratory Preparedness Specialist, with any questions (1-406-444-3068).
