We’re pleased to announce that EAHSCP has been selected as a ‘Getting it Right for Everyone (GIRFE)’ pathfinder.
Erik Sutherland, Head of Locality Health and Care Services, told us more:
“GIRFE came from the Independent Review of Adult Social Care – the Feeley Report – in 2021, and is about taking a multi-agency approach to care and support from early adulthood through to end of life.
This builds on our long-established work on GIRFEC in children and young people and our approach to self-directed support.
Expressions of Interest were invited by Scottish Government on 6 October and we received confirmation of our success in being selected as a Pathfinder on 28 November.
Our Pathfinder will be a ‘whole population’ one, covering older people with frailty, transitions to adulthood, people in recovery, people in custody at HMP Kilmarnock and ‘Deep End’ GP Practices.
Our Pathfinder will work alongside 10 others covering around 2.2 million people across Scotland. We are very much looking forward to contributing to this work and, firstly, taking part in a series of four ‘Design Schools’ from 14 December onward."
The Tea Break will bring you further details on this exciting piece of work in future editions!
