A Walk in the Park.

Walk in Park
Join other older adults for this series of low intensity walking and balance exercise in a social setting. Fitness instructors Ines Bryan and Carol Hahn will meet participants at the gazebo in Library Park and guide us as we learn simple ways to enhance our well-being. This series takes place on four Wednesdays; October 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th from 1:30PM to 2:30PM. Active Aging Week is a celebration of all the amazing things older adults can do! During the week, classes and activities are highlighted on varying subjects from fitness to hobbies and creativity! Crafteen Activities for October

Crafteen October 2022
Join your friends for fun arts and crafts activities after school at the El Segundo Public Library. Fall-themed crafts for October include dreamcatchers on Tuesday, October 4th, paint a Halloween pumpkin on Tuesday, October 18th, and enjoy a special Halloween craft and movie on Tuesday, October 27th. All Crafteens take place in the Community Room at the Library from 3:30PM to 4:30PM. We welcome teens ages 12 to 17 years.

Fall Storytime
Bring your picnic blankets and join us weekly in Library Park (weather permitting) for songs, stories, and fun! Preschool storytime takes place on Tuesdays, 11:00AM to 11:30AM and is for children ages 3 to 5 years. Toddler storytime for ages 0 to 2 years takes place on Wednesdays from 10:00AM to 10:20AM. The fall storytime session  runs from October 11th through November 30th. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. We can't wait to see you there!

Who will let the dogs out on Saturday, October 22nd? Join other dog lovers for a howling good time during Howl-O-Ween! Registration must be turned in at the El Segundo Public Library's Reference Desk and we encourage all participants to do so by Monday, October 17th. El Segundo Police Department will also host a pet safety booth during this event. We are grateful for Wags n Whiskers for their generosity in sponsoring the prizes for our winners! Let's Talk Books!

Lets Talk Books
Join other book enthusiasts as we discuss books! Titles vary monthly and can be checked out from the library while supplies last. October's title is The Lunar Housewife by Caroline Woods. The Evening Book Discussion Group meets on the last Wednesday of each month, from 6:30PM to 7:30PM in the Library's Community Room. November and December will have schedule adjustments due to the holidays. Boks are available at the Reference Desk for check-out while supplies last. Halloween Frolic 2022

Frolic
On Saturday, October 29, El Segundo's Halloween Frolic will take place from noon to 5:00PM on the 300 and 400 block of Main Street. The Halloween Frolic is an annual tradition that features a costume parade and contest, trick-or-treating, a variety of food vendors, and a pumpkin-carving contest. Wristbands to access all the bouncers and games can be purchased at the Clubhouse and Joslyn Center for $8 beginning October 12. Wristbands will cost $10 on the day of the event.
