Healthcare Support Worker award wins for King's staff

Healthcare Support Worker awardsCongratulations to Florita Ballesteros, Senior Healthcare Assistant, and the Band 2-3 Education team on winning two awards at the London Healthcare Support Worker Awards earlier this week.

Eight of our healthcare support workers were nominated for an award, and our Recruitment and Workforce teams were also nominated for the Innovation in Recruitment award.

Florita won the Healthcare Support Worker of the Year award, ahead of nominees from Trusts across London.

In her nomination, Florita's manager wrote: "As a mentor to the new HCAs, it makes me feel at ease knowing that she teaches them with knowledge and skills to maintain the standards that we uphold in the ward...She looks after her patients with great care and compassion. She treats them equally with respect and is always available to provide comfort whenever they need."

Our Band 2-3 Education team won the Pastoral Support award. Their nomination reads: "I am nominating an amazing team that I have the privilege of managing – our Band 2-3 Education team Yanli, Matt and Mai.

"They support the HCSWs across the Trust from recruitment to career progression with care and commitment and demonstrate a passion for education, support and development of this group of staff. They are a small team but the impact they have had has been huge."

Well done to all our nominees and winners, and thank you to all our healthcare support workers for the hard work and commitment they show in giving compassionate care to our patients. These awards are a wonderful testament to how valued they are and showcase the outstanding care that they provide.
