Pandemic Funds VideoThe City of San Bernardino will receive nearly $1 million to renovate Guadalupe Field, a 2.25-acre park at 780 Roberds Ave. in San Bernardino with a baseball field, picnic tables and barbecue amenities. As one of the city’s oldest parks, it needs repairs to promote healthier living environments since it will allow the community members to engage in outdoor and socially-distanced physical activity. The funding is expected to help renovate the existing building and field, upgrade the lights, repair fences, install new bleachers and scoreboard, and purchase new amenities.

The Rialto Unified School District plans to use $2 million in ARPA funds to build an international healing garden to provide a location to support awareness in local environmental issues as well as provide a location that promotes physical and mental health. The healing garden is expected to include a full-size kitchen, classrooms and technology features for meeting and public gathering.

The City of Ontario in collaboration with the Ontario-Montclair School District will receive $300,000 to improve the baseball field at Bon View Park at 1010 S. Bon View Ave. in Ontario to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and its public health and economic impacts by providing nearby baseball activities for local families so they don’t have to travel further to find baseball fields to play on.
