St Ola Pier has been at the heart of a major development project to increase capacity and accommodate larger vessels at Scrabster Harbour on the north coast of Scotland. The investment will allow the port to access new opportunities, including offshore energy and cruise ships.

This latest development, close to the Dounreay site in Caithness, was officially opened in December 2021.

It follows an investment of £18.9 million, with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) providing funding support of £5 million along with its partners Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).
