S. Kofler

Dr. Samantha Kofler, D.D.S, started practicing in California, where she taught at UCSF School of Dentistry in the General Practice Residency program and did public health and private practice dentistry. Dr. Kofler then moved to Seattle, where she continued with a mix of community health and private practice work. After the birth of her second child, Dr. Kofler streamlined her career to just private practice. Dr. Kofler and her family moved east to Walla Walla to be surrounded by family, which is where she currently has her practice.

Dr. Joy McDaniel, D.M.D, received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D.) from Temple University School of Dentistry in 2004. As a proud and supportive military spouse, Dr. McDaniel has relocated to various states across America. This has provided her the opportunity to work in a variety of dental practice types. Dr. McDaniel obtained her Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2009. After her family’s most recent relocation with the military to Washington State in early 2016, she was hired as a general dentist for the Washington State Department of Correction’s male reception center. In early 2018, Dr. McDaniel was asked to serve as the Chief of Dentistry at the Department’s Headquarters, where she has clinical oversight over the WA State prison’s 15 dental clinics. She became an Affiliate Faculty member at the University of Washington’s School of Dentistry in 2019, where she works with the 4th-year dental students in the restorative clinic. In March 2020, Dr. McDaniel was selected as one of five WA State Department of Corrections clinical leaders to work on the Department’s COVID-19 Incident Command, a part of the Emergency Operations Center. She created and updated the statewide protocols and guidelines for testing, isolation, quarantine, PPE, and managing incarcerated individuals and agency staff during the pandemic. In 2021 Dr. McDaniel was appointed a Commissioner by Governor Inslee to the WA State Dental Quality Assurance Commission. She was also appointed to the University of Washington School of Dentistry’s Admissions Committee by the dental school’s president, Dr. Gary Chiodo. She has a passion for dentistry and believes her unique dental career path was ordained so she could help others find what truly makes them smile.
