CAPA sessions aim to encourage physical activity in care settings

Many of us are enjoying the better weather and feeling good as we get moving and notice what nature is up to. No wonder we feel this way – doing things that matter to us, and moving more often during each day, has a positive impact on our health and wellbeing. This holds true no matter what our age or stage in life.
If this interests you, keep an eye out for the Care About Physical Activity: Supporting People’s Wellbeing Programme, which will soon be offering virtual sessions about exploring ways to help people in a range of care support settings to stay active, connected and engaged with things that matter to them.
The positive impact of physical activity on mental wellbeing is perfectly summed up in the following words from a care home resident: “It’s no mair pills we need. It’s hope. This gives us hope.”

If you are working in care homes, day care, hospital wards or anywhere where you are focused on people’s health and wellbeing, you might be interested in joining others in the CAPA programme.
East Ayrshire already has a great reputation in supporting more movement every day in care homes, hospital wards, day services and more, and stories of the difference this makes have already inspired others.
