Storytime Returns to Library Park!

Weather permitting, storytime will be returning to Library Park February 22 - March 30. Join us weekly for songs, stories, and fun! Preschool Storytime for ages 3 to 5 years old will take place on Tuesdays, 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and Baby/Toddler Storytime for ages 0 to 2 years will take place on Wednesday's, 10:00 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. Please contact 310-524-2726 for further information. Crafternoons Are Back! 

Crafternoons
Get crafty in the afternoon with Crafternoons! Crafternoons is a special program designed for kids ages 5 to 12 and takes place on Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Library Park, February 23 to March 30. Masks are required for all attendees ages 2 and up. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Please contact 310-524-2726 for additional information. Tiny Tot Valentine's Tea Party

On Monday, February 14, celebrate Valentine's Day at our Tiny Tot Valentine's Tea Party at the George E. Gordon Clubhouse. Refreshments, snacks, crafts, games and more will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wristband sales began on January 12 in person at the Clubhouse for $10 per person. This is a pre-sale only event for ages 18 months to 4 years with an accompanying adult. We encourage fancy dress and costumes. For information, please call 310-524-2362.

Teen Advisory Council Bonfire

Teen Center Snow Trip

Join your friends and other teens for the Teen Center's annual Snow Trip to Bear Summit on February 21, 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Teens will be bussed up to Bear Summit bright and early and return later in the evening.  Jazz It Up! with Grammy-Nominated Musician Dr. Bobby Rodriguez

Save the date and join library staff at the Farmer's Market on Thursday, March 3, at 4:30 p.m. in the City Hall Plaza for this free Music Center on Tour concert, featuring Grammy-nominated musician Dr. Bobby Rodriguez and his band. Dr. Rodriguez is a professor of jazz at several area universities and is dedicated to expanding the musical experience of his audience. This program is free for all ages and we will also offer hands-on musical instrument crafts for kids on-site. This program was generously funded by the Music Center's Music Center on Tour program. We Heard You: Manga Series Added

Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback about which manga series you'd like to see at the library! In response to your suggestions, we now have titles from Sailor Moon, Demon Slayer, One Piece and The Promised Neverland. Check back later this spring for latest additions including Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Manga continues to grow in popularity with readers of all ages enjoying colorful spreads, engaging storylines and crossover appeal with TV series and movies. Check out our display located across from the new adult fiction and browse our Graphic Novel section for more favorites.
