Check in for event participants starts at 8:00 am and runs until 9:30 am. Anyone who wants to attend and observe should arrive at 9:30. There will be a brief introduction between 10:30 am and 11:00 am.

Fremont is recognized as a Tree City USA Community for 24 straight years in a row and values the importance on plating, preserving, and caring for trees within the community. Trees take care of us by providing benefits such as clean air, clean water, shade, and beauty. Thriving urban forests bolster human health, from encouraging physical activity to reducing respiratory illnesses stemming from air pollution. In the United States, park trees alone remove about 75,000 tons ($500 million) of air pollution each year. Urban trees reduce stormwater runoff  allows that water to be captured before loss into the sea.  Sediment, pollutants, and organic matter is restricted from entering sewer systems and streams, ultimately improving our water quality. Trees have been shown to reduce crime, lower stress levels, and develop community pride. Because trees provide all these benefits and more to take care of us, we choose to take care of them!
