As part of a multi-pronged economic recovery framework, workforce development is a primary focus for the City of Fremont. As such, the City is pleased to announce a new pilot program called 'Earn and Learn Fremont' (ELF) just launched last week. This program is being supported by local Workforce Development Boards, Ohlone College, and Evolve Manufacturing, a local medical device manufacturer.  

The pilot applies an 'earn and learn' model that is providing individuals displaced due to COVID-19 from service sectors and introducing them to careers in manufacturing with paid work experience at Evolve Manufacturing and customized training from Ohlone College.  With this pilot, we hope to promote growth of a skilled talent pipeline for the advanced manufacturing sector, while creating a more inclusive and diverse labor force. Learn more about the Earn and Learn Fremont pilot program.
