The City of Fremont GIS Team has launched a new version of its enterprise Geographic Information System (eGIS) Public Viewer which allows users to easily access Landuse, Zoning, Council Districts, FEMA, Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Projects, Monument Inventory, Street Sweeper Zones, Storm Drain information, and more. Users have the ability to plot coordinates, generate PDF maps, and view 3D images and vintage aerials.
The updated viewer requires no plug-ins, runs on HTML5 using Geocortex Essentials technology, is accessible on all major browsers, and can expand into mobile apps.

Later this year, the City plans to release Story Maps to promote resident participation and engagement. Story Maps combine authoritative geospatial data with maps, photos, multimedia, and narrative text to visualize a theme or sequential events. In addition, the Fremont GIS team will also launch an Open Data Hub, which will organize open data, applications, and resources for our community.
