Dear New Yorker:
Our records indicate that you may be eligible for or currently receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) benefits, and we wanted to provide you with an important update about this program.
If you are receiving PUA benefits and continue to be unemployed when you reach the end of your benefit year – the 52-week period after you first received benefits – you do not need to reapply for benefits or call NYS DOL. Instead, you can just keep certifying each week to continue receiving the benefits you are entitled to. Please note this only applies to PUA benefits – other New Yorkers who are receiving traditional state unemployment insurance (UI) benefits may need to reapply. For more information, visit on.ny.gov/bye.
For information about the recent PUA extension, visit on.ny.gov/arp.
Thank you.
