Please be advised that if you still have a balance for overpaid benefits, your $600 FPUC benefits will be adjusted to reduce the outstanding debt on your claim starting this week. Payments may also be reduced if you have outstanding child support obligations. Your FPUC payment may be reduced by up to $300 each week until the balance you owe is satisfied. The reduction of FPUC benefits to pay back existing unemployment insurance debt is required as part of the federal CARES Act. Those without a balance will not have any benefits withheld.
To view your debt balance, log in to your online NY.gov account at labor.ny.gov/signin, and click on "Unemployment Services." Then select "View Payment History." If you have any remaining debt that will be reduced by your benefits, it will be near the top of the page as "Amount you owe for overpaid benefits." Any amount you owe for penalties must be repaid separately and will not be taken out of benefits paid.
You can also call 800-533-6600 for information about your overpaid benefits. Enter your PIN and select option 3 to obtain your current balance owed.
