Message from New Board Chair Thomas Brooks

Leadership drives the board’s commitment to our shared mission and stakeholders. Board members and board staff have been hard at work to better serve licensees and the public. Through collaboration with community stakeholders and your recent stakeholder survey feedback, we are committed to continued transparency and streamlining all board services.  Exciting changes are making their way through our legislature to better serve you and get us all closer to our shared mission of protecting the public.

Some exciting legislative changes included in the BOSW 2020 Legislative Proposal:

We are excited about the many positive initiatives that are underway in 2020! We continue our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and efficient governance. Starting in 2020, we are moving toward a consent agenda framework for board meetings to maximize our time for training and generative forward-thinking discussions. In addition, we are planning a board retreat/advance to foster engagement and begin work on a new strategic plan to move us closer toward our shared vision. Through the collective leadership of board and staff, we create actionable plans resulting in positive change to promote our mission of protecting the public.

Best regards,
