Family Resource Centers
Get the help and resources you need at our Family Resource Centers. They help children, families, and communities thrive. We design each resource center with unique services to meet the needs of the community around it. In December, we referred families to more than 364,000 community resources. We also offered dozens of classes, support, community events, and meetings.

Serving community through partnerships and collaboration
Nestled in the quaint town of Buckley, White River Family Resource Center (WRFRC) provides families with great resources like diapers and wipes, car seats, pack-n-plays, and more! You can meet with a Department of Social and Health Services consultant to check your basic food application, get an eligibility review, and apply for cash assistance and the Medicaid savings program.
Last year, WRFRC partnered with Pacific Lutheran University to provide Thanksgiving dinners to several local families. They partnered with the Buckley Eagles and White River School District counselors to provide families with Christmas gift cards.
Other great WRFRC programs include:
-
Plateau parents intergenerational group—If you’re at least 60 years old or your family includes children ages 0–5, foster your social connections at Buckley Senior Center. Enjoy activities together like crafts, field trips, and workshops.
-
Behavior bridges—Early spring 2025, join White River School District counselors and engage in social groups, social skills courses, and other workshops and trainings.
-
Lead poisoning prevention—Does your environment or circumstances put you at greater risk for lead exposure? Find out how to get your children tested high for blood lead levels.
Want more info? Visit WRFRC Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or call (360) 829-5883.

Double diaper December
Last month, families that visited a Pierce County Early Childhood Network (PCECN) Diaper Bank Network site got to double their 3-day supply of free diapers and wipes! PCECN helped so many local families this holiday season. We are so grateful for their generosity.
