Family Resource Centers
Get the help and resources you need at our Family Resource Centers. They help children, families, and communities thrive. We design each resource center with unique services to meet the needs of the community around it. In April, we referred families to more than 140,000 community resources. We also offered dozens of classes, support, community events, and meetings.

Parenting can test your patience. Sometimes your kids push your buttons, and it’s hard to keep cool.
Maybe you’ve asked them to do something again and again, but they don’t do it. In these moments, your frustration can bubble over. You might raise your voice to get them to listen. Or maybe you find yourself yelling at your kids from another room, especially if you're busy or tired.
If you find yourself relying on yelling or shouting to get your message across, it might be time to take a slow, deep breath and rethink your approach. Get tips to help. (Spanish)

Mental Health connects to maternal health.
If you’re pregnant, it’s especially important to think about your mental health. Mental health conditions are one of the leading underlying causes of death in pregnancy. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) notes depression, anxiety, death by suicide, and substance use disorders are the most frequent underlying causes of maternal death followed by illness and other conditions.
Mental health and other social determinates contribute to ongoing disparities for Black women and birthing people. New research shows 29-44% of Black women experience postpartum depressive symptoms. Read more in our recent blog post.

Child Abuse Prevention Month
You can play a role in keeping kids safe and helping families thrive. In April, Family Support Partnership (FSP) promoted National Child Abuse Prevention month in Pierce County. We help the state see prevention through a lens focused on programs and public policies that prioritize prevention right from the start. The most important thing you can do is support families all year to promote and build on their strengths and enable them to care for their children safely before maltreatment is a possibility. Time to shine at the Daffodil Parade
Did you check out this year’s Daffodil Parade? If so, you probably noticed Bethel's community float shined! The parade travels through Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, and Orting to showcase Pierce County communities. Thanks to Bethel Community Services, INSPIRE, and Bethel School District, it was a successful event.
Bethel’s community float received the Daffodilion Award! The float wouldn’t have been possible without Amanda Chappell and her family, who dedicated dozens of hours to planning, creating, and building. This year's theme was Time to Shine. Bethel did just that!
