TODAY: Mayor Harrell Joins Thousands of Volunteers, Seattle Sports Teams, and Community Partners for the 2025 One Seattle Day of Service

Seattle neighbors and leaders embrace spirit of service with over 85 volunteer events throughout the city

Seattle – This morning, Mayor Bruce Harrell will kick off the 2025 One Seattle Day of Service and join thousands of volunteers around the City to give back and take action to improve the city we love.

Now in its 4th year, the 2025 Day of Service will be held less than one year away from the 2026 World Cup. This citywide volunteer effort will bring thousands of neighbors together to show our civic pride and get our city ready for the global stage.

“With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, Seattle has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to show the world who we are – a city united by compassion, inclusion, bold action, and a deep commitment to each other,” said Mayor Harrell. “I’m excited to join together once again with neighbors and community partners for this year’s Day of Service, and encourage all Seattleites to roll up their sleeves, lend a helping hand, and help us make a lasting impact.”

This year’s Day of Service includes over 85 events and 2,500 volunteer slots. Along with City-hosted events, partner organizations include Amazon, Molly Moon’s Ice Cream, Comcast, Mary’s Place, Byrd Barr Place, Rover, Visit Seattle, Chinatown-International Business Improvement Area, Friends of Little Saigon, YWCA, Seattle Hotel Association, White Center Food Bank, Restaurant 2 Garden, Solid Ground, Belltown United, and many more.

Mayor Harrell will participate in three events across the city, starting the morning with a kickoff celebration and community cleanup in Little Saigon with Amazon, Friends of Little Saigon, and representatives from the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee. He will then join the YWCA and Comcast for a beautification event in the Central District. Finally, he will close the day by joining the African Center for Excellence to help with their beautification event and youth soccer clinic in West Seattle.
