Hello Aurora Avenue friends,
Our Aurora Ave N online survey for the draft community ideas will officially close at 5:00 pm tomorrow, Friday, April 12th. Please take the survey if you haven’t already, and encourage your neighbors to take it, too. We thank everyone who shared their feedback via our online survey and who attended one of our open house sessions.
Once we’ve reviewed the survey results, we will share a summary of the findings with you. In the meantime, you can visit our project website to learn more about the project.
While we work on long-term plans for the future of Aurora Ave N, we are also working on some near-term safety changes for the corridor to be implemented in late 2024. These will include:
-
A new crossing signal at N 137th St for people walking and biking along with left-turn and thru-movement restrictions at the intersection
-
New left-turn and thru-movement restrictions with curbs and median islands at three intersections (N 103rd St, N 128th St, N 143rd St)
-
New mountable “hardened centerline” treatments encourage slower left turns into parallel crosswalks at six intersections
-
All current crosswalks on Aurora Ave will be widened and get new paint
