Aurora Ave Map

Hello Aurora Avenue friends!

Thank you again to all of you to took our survey last year and shared how you’d like to see Aurora Ave improve.  We have spent the last couple of months planning our next opportunity for you to weigh in on the future design of the Aurora Ave Project and wanted to share some updates.

Community Design Workshops

We’re excited to share that we will be organizing design workshops which will be held this spring. These workshops will be offered both virtually and in-person. We'll be building on what we heard in last year's survey about transportation safety concerns along Aurora Ave. We’ll lead these community workshop discussions to create the future vision for the corridor together. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!

Interactive Maps:

Check out our new interactive maps that highlight the project area. These interactive maps give an overview of key data to understand the issues and opportunities along the Aurora Ave N corridor. We’ll use this data to help inform decisions on safety, mobility, and accessibility upgrades.

We invite you to explore the map

  • Start by selecting the layer explorer icon and selecting the type of information you'd like to see on the map.
  • Click on the crossed-out eye icons to reveal each data layer.
  • Click the drop-down arrows to the left of each eye icon to see a menu of the layers available.
  • Once a layer is made visible, you’ll be able to click on each data point on the map to pull up more information.
  • The legend icon allows you to see what different colors and symbols mean in each visible data layer.

Your Levy Dollars at Work! Aurora Ave Sidewalk Improvements

While our project aims to co-create the future vision of Aurora Ave, we are also working on making immediate safety improvements along the corridor.  Recently, crews were out repairing sidewalks along the eastern side of Aurora Ave N from NE 85th St to N 105th St. Our sidewalk repair program is possible thanks to your tax dollars through the Levy to Move Seattle. For more information on this work and program, check out our blog post.

Leading Pedestrian Intervals on Aurora Ave

Thanks to funding from Vision Zero, all signalized intersections on Aurora Ave N now automatically give those who walk a head start and more time to cross before cars get a green light. This improves safety by making people more visible to drivers. More Vision Zero upgrades to come!
