2022 Child Care Facilities Request for Proposal (RFP)
Deadline to Apply: July 19, 2022
Seattle Department of Human Services (HSD) recently announced expanded availability of funding to increase licensed capacity in Seattle preschool and child care facilities and an extended RFP deadline.
HSD is seeking applications from providers interested in capital improvements to their sites to increase licensed capacity and serve more children. Funding awards will be made for the period of September 9, 2022 - December 31, 2024. Please note that HSD reserves the right to do partial allocations.
- Nonprofit and FOR PROFIT, center-based providers and preschools are eligible to apply for $25,000 (min) to $2,000,000 (max)
- Nonprofit and FOR PROFIT, home-based agencies are eligible to apply for $10,000 (min) to $75,000 (max)
Providers interested in applying for this RFP must have experience in:
- providing developmentally and culturally appropriate early learning programming;
- working with Seattle children and families most disproportionately impacted by the effects of COVID-19; and
- working with Seattle children 0 – 5 years old.
Up to $5,000,000 of Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery (CLFR) Funds and up to $1,000,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding is available for this opportunity for facilities meeting eligibility criteria.

DCYF Child Care Stabilization Grant
Deadline to apply: EXTENDED to September 30, 2022
The Washington Department of Children, Youth & Families recently announced an extension of the application deadline for their Child Care Stabilization Grant, previously scheduled to close on June 30. Licensed child care providers and Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) providers now have until September 30 to apply for this funding, provided by the Federal American Rescue Plan Act, for use in stabilizing, supporting, and growing the diverse early learning workforce in a way that rebuilds a stronger child care system and expands access to affordable high-quality care.

DCYF Early Childhood Equity Grant
Deadline to apply: August 16, 2022
The Fair Start for Kids Act, passed by the Washington State Legislature in 2021, directs DCYF to distribute funds to support inclusive and culturally and linguistically specific early learning and early childhood and parent support programs across the state. The funds are distributed through the Early Childhood Equity Grant.
Eligibility is open to:
- licensed or certified child care providers with an open license in good standing
- license-exempt Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) providers serving children receiving state subsidies
- ECEAP contractors
- Play and Learn Groups that are recognized by Child Care Aware of Washington (CCA of WA) and currently receive funding and/or direct programming support from CCA of WA to actively provide direct and virtual education and materials to parents and FFN caregivers, as a result of a contractual agreement between CCA of WA and the State of Washington and passed on to the recognized Play and Learn Group.
